As I was travelling back home in the ladies compartment of the local electric train from Tambram to Guindy, I saw a school going kid eating oranges putting all the peelings inside his bag. He would be maximum 5 or 6 years old. He got down with me in Guindy and I saw him dropping the peelings in the garbagge bin kept in the station and he moved on. As I was just watching him do that, a few meters away, I saw a grownup guy (looks like he is an educated guy) drinking coffee in the coffee vendor stall, as he finished the drink, tossed the disposable cup down on the platform. There was a garbagge bin very close to him near the stall. I personally felt very much ashamed. A kid knows to keep his sorroundings clean, but but a grown up doesn’t bother to respect the sourroundings. I felt hit! Hurt! Beaten up.

I was so freaking annoyed that I wanted to pick that cup and throw it back at his face. Next time I think I will just do that.

I went to him and called out “excuse me…excuse me

He wasn’t turning ….then I scrached his shoulder then he turned back

I said “ you have trown your coffee cup on the platform, it would be nice if you can pick it up and put it in the dustbin kept ther near the stall….”

He gazed at me for a while and then picked the cup and put it inside the dustbin.

He came back to me and sarcastically said “are you gonna stand here on duty to tell everyone to put the cup in the bin?”

I walked off replying “Hope situation will not demand that! Hope people will not be irresponsible like you!

I do it with my friends too. First time they laughed at me. I didn’t bother. Now they know what to do. Simple task people.

Makes a lot of difference. The best way to make our dream come true is to wake up…and I just did
